Dear brothers and sisters,

Yes, camp is coming!

I have been thinking about you and am eagerly anticipating the time we will spend together in LA. Then Bao and the Hope LA team has been joyfully preparing fully for our camp. We are all excited with what God will do.

Today let me share two things with you as our camp draws near. First, here is something that Bao shared that impacted me. (He knows that I am going to quote him)

"We wanted camp to be of course about our Core Values. We also wanted people to depart from camp impacted by God’s Word by strong teaching great relationship building, and being in God’s presence.

Most of all, we wanted to bring Jesus to the forefront of this Camp as it is solely about Him - His Work and Personhood. We want people to leave astonished, in awe of , and boasting about Jesus and the cross after 4 days of worshiping and learning together. From even our times of learning about The Core, Jesus can be the hero of those messages and ultimate the Hero of our churches. From this angle, we pray that God would use the program to ignite affections for a great, loving, awesome Savior and respond in humble service to be on mission making disciples who love Him and planting churches for Gospel expansion." Bao

Isn't that a good word? We so love Jesus. As followers of Jesus, we will gather and honor Him.

Secondly, let me share an encouragement for those of us who may be new to church camps. God's Word in Lev. 23:4 teaches us about the annual feasts. This was a annual spiritual feast when the people made effort to join in the festivities as one people under God. Our church camp is like the annual feast when we unite together to meet God, to meet our self and to meet each other.

We unplug from the weekly routines to plug into to God. Jesus calls us to "come aside into a desert place, and rest a while" (Mark 6: 31). We enjoy spiritual alignment. The vision is declared. The Word is taught. The prophetic direction moves us forward. We gather as Hope North America once a year as one connective church family. This is always good.

Finally, can I ask that you help forward this message to our people in the Hope NA family. Thanks for spreading the word : )

Continue loving Jesus. Look forward to spending some time together this July.

Loving Jesus and loving you,
Pastor Ben
