“Transformers”
is a story about robots that can disguise
themselves by transforming into
everyday machinery. Thousands of mechanical
pieces move as the robots transform
and maneuver. They transform by rearranging
their bodies into various forms, which earn
them the phrase, "More than Meets the Eye".
Of course, Jesus can transform a giant
robot into a sports car. He can do this
if He wanted; He can do anything.
However, superficial displays of power
has never been His style. Instead,
He reserves His power for the beautiful
work of transforming people from the
inside out. He wants to transform you
from sinner to saved, sick to healed,
poor to prosperous, depressed to joyful,
troubled to peaceful. Everything
changes when you encounter Him.
Jesus desires to change our lives, not
just send us to Heaven. He wants to
transform the lives of every person we
know. Moreover, He wants to impact
our community so significantly that no
one, not the media, government officials
or sociologists, will have a rational
explanation for the change in our
overall quality of life.
We should ask ourselves these questions:
are we allowing Jesus to transform us?
Are we working with Jesus in
transforming people's lives? Have we
made it our mission as individuals and
as a church to do so? The church can
choose either to be conformers or
transformers.
